April 2006
The Alaska Department of Fish and Game announced March 31, that one of the wolf control areas has been closed to further aerial control for this regulatory year because aerial gunners and other hunters and trappers had killed the targeted number of wolves.
As of April 3rd, a total of 140 wolves have been killed this aerial gunning season.
Easy targets against fallen snow, wolves can be gunned down from airplanes or chased to exhaustion, then shot at point blank range. Hundreds of wolves have been killed over the past 3 winters and the new plans target more than 400 more.
Sign the Petition and if you can, give a donation, every bit counts!: wolfcampaign.defenders.org/site/PageServer?pagename=wolf_homepage
